We just completed working drawings on a new house in Lewisburg, WV for Glenn and Susan. The house features lots of passive and active sustainable features and we are really happy with it.
The main features of the house are a strict solar orientation, rainwater collection systems, geothermal heating and cooling via radiant slabs and hydronic coils, and the use of rapidly renewable materials for the finishes. The initial energy model is showing a reduction of greater than 15% from the baseline for a house this size, and we are hoping that a more detailed model will provide us with even greater efficiency.
Right now we are in the pricing stage and will be working with local builders to execute the design. Stay tuned for future updates!
